For three summers, our field team from the University of Maryland researched and documented the buildings, city walls, cisterns and civic structures in southern Turkey, at the city of Aperlae. One of the specific areas of study involved documenting the 30+ cisterns on the site that held the water for the ancient town, while mapping their relative location and size.
