What: A place for a diverse community, including a collaborative community art studio + permanent supportive housing units.
This project hopes to be an inclusive community that provides contemporary housing options for underserved populations in the District. The building mass is nestled into the hillside, and meets the street with an industrial motif utilizing gray-brick, weathered cor-ten steel panels and corrugated metal. The main entrance is flanked by community-driven art spaces meant to be used by the residents and other visiting artists. Per DC sustainability requirements, this project will meet DOE’s Zero-Energy Ready Homes.
